In the last couple of years, between tragic deaths and retirements, the fashion industry had lost crème de la crème talents like Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino (sigh...), which left some big shoes to fill. Fortunately, all three design houses have filled it successfully. The new design duos at Valentino, Pier Paolo Piccioli and Maria Grazia Chiuri deserve acclamation as they've created a subtly sensual, chic collection that not only captured the Valentino spirit, but managed to deliver a vibrant feel to the younger generations.
