Following up on my hit post kitchen remodel ideas, I wanted to share 1 of 2 most basic renovation elements where you get the quickest return on investment. Unlike structural improvements (replace roof or moving walls), lighting and painting are less costly and visually gratifying. Let's focus on lighting today and save painting for a later post.
The right lighting can make or break a room. Chandeliers, sconces, pendants, floor lamps...with so many options, it could be a daunting task just trying to figure what you want. My advice is to first determine your lighting needs for each room. Is it needed for functionality or ambience? Whatever purpose it's needed for, be mindful that lighting not only sets the mood, but should work to enhance your overall design scheme.
Lights, camera, action! Has any light bulbs gone off in your head yet?
