It is true that retail is one tough business.  Competition is undeniably fierce in this tech age; as if E-commerce and M-commerce weren't enough; there are also growing flash sites and S-commerce.  The countdown of the 26 alphabets will probably continue as new technologies develop.

Indeed, online shopping can be tempting since you can click away in your PJ's, and on the World Wide Web, the selections seem endless, but there is something to be said about walking into a shop where everybody knows your name.  At local shops, you'll experience personal service (hence the term retail therapy?)- touch, feel and try on carefully curated merchandise selections by expert Buyers.  Sometimes, less is more!

For you last minute shoppers, look no further and go check out my favorite boutiques: David Lawrence, who personally recommended the navy tote and rope necklace as hot wish list items (what women wouldn't like these?) Canopy Blue (new owner, edgier cool selections) and La Ree Boutique. The latter is having their Winter Sale right now, but surprisingly their website doesn't reflect much of their actual inventory.  I guess you'll just have to make a personal appearance!
