October is the ideal shopping month to buy for yourself.  The stores are chuck-full of new goods, and this is especially enticing since holiday shopping is still far out.  My excuse was I needed to refresh my closet, and to add just a few key pieces will do.  Well, the key pieces turned out harder to find.  I scoured the internet and shopped the local boutiques, as well as, department stores only to realize finding cute, unique, and versatile blouses at a reasonable price was no easy task.

When we think of closet staples, we think of jackets, bags, shoes, but we often neglect the tops, even though it is one of the most popular categories at any retailers. Specifically short sleeve or sleeveless because they can go from day into night by simply adding a blazer or cardigan, and switching out the bottoms like skirts/pants for work and jeans or leather for play.  See 'Shop TET Weekly Edit' for styling ideas.

While the boxy trend has slimmed down, it's still slightly loose in comparison to the fitted shirt or body conscious tee.  Personally, aside from liking the trend, I think unless you have the perfect abs, this is actually more flattering as it minimizes the mid-section, thereby streamlining (no unwanted bulge) your outfit.  The trick is to front tuck the top into your bottom to show your curves.  Fitted or not, the most important thing is you must feel good in what you wear.  For me, THIS new purchase does it!
