Opposite of B. Barnett's location, today's "The A - Z of Upscale Boutiques Series" spotlight--Curve stores are located in exactly where they belong, NYC, LA, SF, Miami, and a pop-up shop in the Hamptons. Founder/Owner-Nevena Borissova opened her first door on Robertson Boulevard at the tender age of 22. Talk about inspiration!  Nevena was one of those "ahead of the curve" buyers who didn't shy away from unknown (in the U.S.) labels like Augustin Teboul and Italian milliner, Borsalino.  Obsessed with promoting new talent, she has help launched the careers of numerous designers.

A founding member of the Vogue 100 - a group of women hand-selected by Vogue magazine from across the country, known for being tastemakers in fashion, art, and culture, Nevena is recognized by top publications as a trailblazer.  I have been to 3 out of 4 Curve locations, and agree with her mission "to sell style, not just trends".  Aesthetic for each location varies slightly.  While her New York store has a modern feel with marble, mirror, glass, and metal, her San Francisco space is modern but juxtaposed with a beautiful Victorian facade.  If you're in the Bay area, you might want to make a visit and see for yourself. Curve SF is having a Derek Lam F/W 14 Preview Trunk Show today and tomorrow @ 2-6pm.

I'm a firm believer in giving back, especially when you can influence for the greater good. In addition to building her retail empire, Nevena helps bring international attention to the plight of war-affected youth in the Congo through her partnership with Falling Whistles.
